Best Performance - 7^th National Games (1995)

Weiqi used to be one of events of National Games which is held every four years for the purpose of selecting the best players for the Olympic Games. Like other Olympic events, weiqi developed quickly in such an environment.

Unfortunately, the 7th National Games in 1995 was the last time for weiqi to be one of its events. Thereafter, weiqi, as one of the independent Chinese traditional events, had its new competition system in a new environment in China. The fact of recent prosperous development indicates that weiqi (or baduk or go), beloved by the people in China, Korea, Japan and other countries in the world, will have a great future.
